Great Food on the Plate, Great Sex, Great Playmate, NO?

“It’s your plate, not your mate.” That’s what authors Robert Fried, Ph.D. and Lynn Eldlen-Nezin, Ph.D., tell us in their book “Great Food, Great Sex, The Three Food Factors for Sexual Fitness.” Sexual turn-ons are 90% above the collar, but only if everything below the belt on your playmate is functioning with optimal potential.

We have various drugs that can help such as Viagra®, Cialis®, and Levitra®. However, eating for an incredible sex life requires an understanding of a chemical compound known as nitric oxide or NO for short. Scientists know for certain that NO is a common facilitator for many neurotransmitters involved in controlling the male erectile reaction to any stimulus. Note: nitric oxide [NO] is not to be confused with nitrous oxide [N2O], a general anesthetic, or with nitrogen dioxide [NO2] which is a poisonous pollutant.

Eating and living healthy are essential for optimal penile functions. Take advantage of the production of NO with a diet rich in whole grain, fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and olive oil. Focus on unprocessed carbohydrates, healthy fats and lean protein or healthy protein sources such as fish.

Simply, the three “L’s” are the three main food categories that are great sources for NO along with excercise.

  1. Leafy greens, nitrogen rich vegetables and beans.
  2. Lean meat, fish, soybeans, nuts and legumes.
  3. Lots of bright colors in fruits, tea, olive oil and, of course, an occasional glass of red wine and moderate amounts of dark chocolate!

Easy & Very Cheesy Fajita Nachos

This adopted recipe comes from when I was single. I wanted something quick and easy for dinner. Something hardy! Less than 10 simple ingredients and I had very cheesy fajita nachos on the table. I dislike soggy chips so this recipe eliminates that issue.

Scarlett Skillet Cheesy Fajita Nachos

Ingredients

  1. 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  2. 1 lb – Sliced Chicken Breast into strips
  3. 1 Onion, peeled and sliced with the grain into strips.
  4. 2 Bell Peppers, Green and Red, stemmed, seeded,      de-ribbed, sliced lengthwise into strips.
  5. 1 can – Cream of Mushroom Soup
  6. 1 jar – 16oz Salsa or Picante Sauce
  7. 1 pkg – 16oz Velveeta Mexican Cheese cut into 1” cubes.
  8. 1 can – Black Beans rinsed and drained
  9. Sliced jalapenos – optional
  10. Organic Tortilla Chips

Method

Set your cast-iron skillet over high heat and let it heat up for 1-2 minutes. Add the tablespoon of oil and let heat up. Add chicken strips, fry until golden, about 5 minutes. Add the onion and pepper slices and sauté for 5 minutes.

Add cream of mushroom soup, stir. Add salsa or picante sauce, stir. Add cheese and stir until melted and mixture is hot.

Serve with your desired amount of tortilla chips topped with the cheesy fajita mixture, black beans and jalapenos if you wish. (Hint: JD warms the tortilla chips in the microwave for about 15 seconds)

Farm Bread Salad In A Skillet

JD makes his own farm bread, a mild sourdough, with a hard crust and a chewy texture inside. For extra texture and substance, JD often changes it up with the addition of pine nuts, olives, fresh mini-mozzarella balls, or crispy bacon!

Human Performance Inspirationalist & A Child with Special Needs

As a Human Performance Inspirationalist, I inspire others to exceed their personal expectations. Often times I must do this through example. In our ever-changing world there are trigger-points that make us stop and take inventory of ourselves and of our lives. Mine came one day when I held a child with special needs in my arms.

The baby was lethargic and scored poorly on the Apgar, but the nurses tried to act optimistically. I had spent enough time with babies to realize there was something disturbingly unusual about the one in my arms. This precious child was unresponsive, entirely too still and flaccid.

I’ll always remember the drive home from the doctor’s office the day I learned this special child in my life was diagnosed with “floppy baby syndrome”, or hypotonia, a state of low muscle tone. The underlying cause and the child’s future is a mystery still.

We all have come to grips with the fact that this perfect angel will not be physically perfect, and we face lifelong challenges. There is no looking backward or forward, we simply deal with one day at a time; one moment at a time. Daily expectations shift from “normal” to “special”, and my heart secretly aches watching moms’ of special needs child struggle through the cycles of life!

My blogging experience has made my life more complete. My intentions are for this blog to help when the day comes the Lord calls us home, and there is no one to care for a special needs child. Skillet Pasta Carbonara

JD is such a sexy man cooking pasta alla carbonara! I love it in its many forms and variations. Luscious and wonderfully indulgent, it takes him as long to prepare as it does for the pasta to cook. Simple, high quality ingredients make all the difference and when you add a pinch of nutmeg the fans rave. JD uses a recipe at Simply Delicious as his base and let’s his imagination soar with his scarlett skillet in hand.

Skillet Soup with Wild Mushroom & Coconut

Many cultures have considered mushrooms the source for super-human strength and sex drive. However, the aphrodisiac properties are still being debated, but JD is my Popeye between the sheets after we enjoy this soup with a Grilled Provolone & Veggie Basil Sandwich.

Figs, Coffee, Vanilla, Cheese and Pizzelle’s – The Incredible Happens

Figs, packed with potassium, manganese, and antioxidants, this superpower fruit helps keep your immune system strong. I love how a man’s back-view resembles a fig turned upside down. Every time JD is shirtless and working with our fig tree, my insides stir with passion.

JD adopted an idea he found at “Recipe Doodle” and inspired by their image; he creates his Vanilla Coffee Bean & Almond Figs. Simply delicious! Cut a slit from stem to end in the side of 2 dozen dried figs, or so. Do not cut all the way through!  Stir together 4 ounces of softened cream cheese, 3 teaspoons of powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 6 ground coffee beans. Evenly fill each fig with this mixture, insert 1 roasted salted almond to disappear into cheese mixture, and press figs to secure filling. Bon Appetite!

Mixing these bite-sized morsels with a Fig and Camembert Cheese appetizer on a platter, JD is the envy of most dinner parties.  Believe or not, they are incredibly tasty! Simply create irregular pieces of broken vanilla-flavored pizzelle’s. Typically 3 per pizzelle. Uniformity is not a concern.  Place some Camembert Cheese on top of one piece, top with sliced dried figs and cap with another pizzelle piece.  Have fun and wait for the sounds of raving fans.

Three-Ingredient Reese’s Truffles

Now here is a “Simple Saturday’ recipe that is perfect for any peanut butter and chocolate lover.  Presentation, if there are many left, can be casual or elegant depending on your mood. I came across this recipe and image at Pennywise Cook and knew I had to share it. Visit Pennywise Cook for more information, but all you need is 3 packs of Reese’s Peanut Cups (6 total), 3 standard size Hershey Bars, and 3 slices of regular flavored Pound Cake to start you off.
